Flashery Terms of Service
1. Provider
The Flashery Android app and the Flashery server are provided by Maciej Tyrakowski (the provider). Contact: tyrek.developer@gmail.com.
2. The service
Flashery helps you learn vocabulary with flashcards. Learning, word lists and progress work on the phone for free and without an account. Additional services: points and the points shop (themes, effects, streak freezes, no ads), learning rewards, AI scanning of a photographed word list (age 16+), a recovery code (moving the account to a new phone) and paid plans and point packs.
3. Technical requirements
A phone with Android 8.0 or newer and the Google Play Store. Points, scanning, account restore and purchases need an internet connection.
4. Account
A server account is created automatically for people who entered their age and are at least 13. Enter your real age; it cannot be changed later. You move the account to another phone with a recovery code (Settings → Account) — write it down and do not show it to anyone, because whoever knows the code takes over the account. You can delete the account at any time in the app (Settings → Privacy) or by email (see the account deletion page).
5. Plans and point packs
- Premium — monthly or yearly subscription: no full-screen ads after lessons and up to 10 scans a day (150 per calendar month) without spending points.
- Max — monthly or yearly subscription: like Premium, with up to 10 scans a day and 150 per calendar month, plus 100 points every 30 days, the Marble theme and detailed word stats in the app (calculated on the phone), available while the plan is active. No plan is unlimited.
- Point pack — a one-time purchase of a set number of points.
The server adds Max plan points once Google Play confirms the payment and then every 30 days while the plan is active (also on the yearly plan), at most once every 30 days, also when you switch plans; they stay on the account after the plan ends. Once a plan's limit is used up, scanning continues for points as usual. Rewarded ads (for points) stay available on every plan, on a voluntary basis. Plans and packs can be bought by people aged 16 or over.
All purchases are made through Google Play. Google Play shows the current price (including taxes) before you buy. A subscription renews every month or every year, depending on the period you chose, until you cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions; after cancelling, it runs until the end of the paid period. If Google Play shows a free trial, payment starts when it ends unless you cancel the subscription earlier. Deleting your Flashery account does not cancel a subscription.
Learning rewards: for 7, 14 and 30 days of learning in a row (streak) and for 60 and 100 days of learning in total the app gives themes and animations that cannot be bought; once earned, they stay on the account. For every full week of a streak the server adds 10 points. A learning day is a day on which you finish a lesson with at least 10 cards or a whole shorter list.
No ads for points: turns off full-screen ads after lessons for 7 or 30 days. Buying again extends the period from its end. Lesson points are added as usual, and rewarded ads (for points) stay available on a voluntary basis. It cannot be bought while a plan is active, because the plan already turns these ads off; a period bought earlier keeps running.
Points are not money: they cannot be exchanged for money or moved to another account. The provider may change points shop prices and the rules for earning points and rewards; points already earned, themes and effects already bought and rewards already earned are kept.
6. Withdrawal and refunds
Plans and points are digital content and services delivered immediately after purchase. Refunds and withdrawal are handled by Google Play under its policies (support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637). After a refund Flashery removes the plan or the purchased points (including points added for a refunded plan month). These terms do not limit your statutory consumer rights.
7. Complaints
If the service does not work as described, write to tyrek.developer@gmail.com: describe the problem and give your account ID (Settings → Privacy). You will get a reply within 14 days. Payment complaints can also be filed with Google Play.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not create multiple accounts to collect points or get around limits; do not automate the app or requests to the server.
- Scan only word lists — no faces, documents or other people's data.
- Share only word lists with a code — no personal data and nothing offensive. The person who shares a list is responsible for its content.
- In case of abuse the provider may block the account or reset points earned in breach of these terms.
9. Availability and liability
The provider takes care of the server, but scanning and points may be temporarily unavailable (e.g. under heavy load or during maintenance). Scanning uses an AI model and can make mistakes — check the recognised words before saving a list. Daily limits protect the service from abuse.
10. Changes
The current version of these terms is always at this address, with its effective date at the top. The app will announce significant changes to paid plans in advance.
